Candidature notice requirement: written nomination, deposit and member notification govern eligibility for directorship. A non retiring directorial candidate (or the member proposing them) must, at least fourteen days before a general meeting, leave a written notice at the company office signifying candidature, accompanied by a refundable deposit; the company must notify members of the candidature by individual notice not less than seven days before the meeting or by advertising in two local newspapers, and these nomination and notification rules do not apply to private companies except where the private company is a subsidiary of a public company.
