        Central government power to modify Companies Act application in Goa Daman and Diu permits notifications tailoring provisions for local companies. Central Government may, by notification, direct that specified provisions of the Companies Act shall not apply or shall apply only with such exceptions, modifications or adaptations as specified, to any existing company in the Union Territories of Goa, Daman and Diu and to any company registered there under the Act on or after the commencement date, thereby permitting tailored application of the Act within those territories.
