of <h1>Central Government can modify Companies Act, 1956 for Goa, Daman, and Diu through Official Gazette notifications.</h1> The Central Government is authorized to issue notifications in the Official Gazette to modify the application of the Companies Act, 1956, for companies in the Union Territories of Goa, Daman, and Diu. Effective from January 26, 1963, or any later date, these notifications can specify which provisions of the Act will not apply or will apply with certain exceptions, modifications, or adaptations. This applies to existing companies in these territories and those registered there under the Act from the specified date.
