Producer company investment limits can be increased by special resolution with prior government approval, enabling subsidiary and other investments. A Producer Company must invest general reserves in prescribed approved instruments. It may acquire shares of other Producer Companies, subscribe to capital or enter into subsidiary, joint venture or other arrangements by special resolution to promote its objects. A Producer Company, alone or with subsidiaries, may invest in other companies up to thirty per cent of paid up capital and free reserves, subject to exceeding that limit only by special resolution with prior Central Government approval. Investments must align with company objects; disposal of such investments requires members' prior special resolution. A register of all investments must be maintained at the registered office for member inspection.
