          <h1>Powers of securities regulator: SEBI administers specified company law provisions for listed and to-be-listed public companies.</h1> Section 55A allocates administration of specified company law provisions concerning issue and transfer of securities and non payment of dividend: administration is to be exercised by the securities regulator for listed public companies and companies intending to list, and by the Central Government in other cases; powers relating to prospectus, return of allotment, issue of shares and redemption of irredeemable preference shares are to be exercised by the Central Government, the tribunal or the registrar of companies as applicable.
