Election of chairman: a show-of-hands selection holds until a demanded poll may replace them for the meeting. Unless the company's articles provide otherwise, members present elect a chairman by show of hands; if a poll on that election is demanded it must be taken forthwith, the chairman elected on a show of hands exercising all chairman powers until, if a different person is chosen by the poll, that person becomes chairman for the remainder of the meeting.
