Retention of winding-up proceedings permits a lower forum to continue cases despite improper venue and transfer issues. The High Court had authority to direct that a District Court in which winding-up proceedings were commenced should retain and continue the proceedings even though it may not be the Court in which they ought to have been commenced; the provision was omitted by subsequent amendment with the effective date to be notified.
