Casual vacancies among directors can be filled by the board, with appointees serving only until the original director's term expires. Where a director appointed by the company in general meeting vacates office before the normal expiry of his term, the resulting casual vacancy may, subject to the company's articles, be filled by the Board at a Board meeting; any person so appointed holds office only up to the date the original director would have held office.
