False evidence prohibition may attract imprisonment and a fine for untruthful testimony or affidavits in company proceedings. The provision criminalises intentional provision of false evidence in company-law proceedings, including false testimony under oath or solemn affirmation and false affidavits or depositions in or about winding up or other matters arising under the Act, and subjects the offender to imprisonment and a fine.
