Service on foreign companies deemed sufficient when sent to a registered Indian agent; alternative service allowed at Indian business if agent unavailable. Documents required to be served on a foreign company are sufficiently served if addressed to a person whose name and address have been delivered to the Registrar and left at, or sent by post to, that delivered address. If the company defaults in providing an authorised resident agent, or if the delivered persons are dead, have ceased to reside, refuse service, or cannot be served, service may instead be effected by leaving the document at, or posting it to, any place of business the company has established in India.
