Withdrawal of cases and appeals: Sessions Judge can recall and reassign or personally try cases before trial begins. A Sessions Judge may withdraw or recall any case or appeal previously made over to a Chief Judicial Magistrate, and may recall matters made over to an Additional Sessions Judge prior to commencement of trial or hearing; after withdrawal or recall the Sessions Judge may try or hear the matter personally or make it over to another court in accordance with the Sanhita.
