Directorate of Prosecution centralises prosecutorial hierarchy and case-monitoring by severity, ensuring administrative control and defined subordination. Establishes a Directorate of Prosecution at State and District levels with specified eligibility for Director, Deputy and Assistant Directors, places the Director under Home Department control, and sets a hierarchical subordination of deputy, assistant and public prosecutors. It allocates monitoring responsibilities by offence-severity-Director for most serious offences and appeals, Deputy Directors for mid-range offences and police-report scrutiny, Assistant Directors for lesser offences-while permitting any such officer to deal with all proceedings and allowing the State to notify additional powers; the Advocate General is excluded when acting as Public Prosecutor.
