          <h1>Assistant Public Prosecutors appointments govern district and central designations; temporary appointment allowed by District Magistrate with prescribed notice.</h1> The provision requires State Governments to appoint one or more Assistant Public Prosecutors in each district for Courts of Magistrates, permits the Central Government to appoint Assistant Public Prosecutors for particular cases or classes of cases, and authorizes the District Magistrate to temporarily appoint another person for a specific case when no Assistant Public Prosecutor is available, after giving a fourteen-day notice to the State Government. Police officers are disqualified from appointment where they participated in the investigation or are below the rank of Inspector.
