          <h1>Destruction orders permit disposal of defamatory or harmful matter after conviction to remove offending material.</h1> The law empowers the court, upon conviction for offences relating to offensive publications or unlawful consumables, to order the destruction of all copies of the libellous or prohibited matter in the court's custody or in the possession or power of the convicted person, and similarly to order destruction of food, drink, drug or medical preparations in respect of which the conviction was had.
