          <h1>Use of armed forces to disperse assembly: magistrate may requisition forces to disperse and arrest while minimising force.</h1> Section 149 authorises a District Magistrate or authorised Executive Magistrate to cause an assembly that cannot otherwise be dispersed to be dispersed by the armed forces for public security, to requisition an officer in command of armed forces to disperse the assembly and arrest and confine persons as directed, and requires the requisitioned officer to obey while using as little force and causing as little injury to persons and property as is consistent with dispersal and arrest.
