Repeal and savings preserves pending criminal proceedings and validates prior notifications and sanctions under the new Sanhita. Repeal and savings: repeal of the existing criminal procedure statute is effected while preserving legal continuity through a comprehensive savings regime. Pending appeals, applications, trials, inquiries and investigations that exist immediately before commencement continue to be disposed of, continued or held under the prior procedural law as if the new Sanhita had not commenced. Notifications, proclamations, powers, forms, jurisdictions, sentences, orders, rules and appointments in force immediately before commencement are deemed to have been made under corresponding provisions of the Sanhita, and prior sanctions or consents permit proceedings to be commenced under the Sanhita.
