Accused unable to understand proceedings: trial may continue and any lower-court conviction must be forwarded for High Court review. If an accused, though not of unsound mind, cannot be made to understand the proceedings, the court may proceed with the inquiry or trial; and if a court other than the High Court convicts, it must forward the proceedings with a report of the circumstances to the High Court, which shall pass such order as it thinks fit.
