<h1>Police Can Investigate Cognizable Cases Without Magistrate Order Under Section 175 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023</h1> Under Section 175 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, a police officer in charge of a station can investigate cognizable cases without a Magistrate's order if the case falls within the jurisdiction of the local court. The Superintendent of Police may assign the Deputy Superintendent to investigate based on the offense's nature and gravity. Police proceedings in such cases cannot be questioned on the grounds of authority. A Magistrate, under Section 210, may order an investigation after reviewing an application and affidavit. For complaints against public servants, a Magistrate can order an investigation after receiving a report and considering the public servant's assertions.
