Powers of officers appointed: same powers continue on equal or higher appointment within like local area unless directed otherwise. When a government servant invested with powers under this Sanhita for a local area is appointed to an equal or higher office of the same nature within a like local area under the same State Government, they shall, unless the High Court or State Government otherwise directs, exercise the same powers in the local area of the new appointment.
