Succession of judicial powers: successor may exercise a judge's or magistrate's powers with written designation resolving doubts. Subject to the Sanhita's other provisions, the powers and duties of a Judge or Magistrate may be exercised by the successor-in-office; where doubt exists as to who is successor-in-office, a written determination by the appropriate judicial authority designates which judge or magistrate shall be deemed the successor-in-office for the purposes of the Sanhita and any proceedings or orders thereunder.
