of <h1>Armed Forces protected under Section 42: No arrest for duty actions without Central or State Government consent.</h1> Section 42 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, provides that members of the Armed Forces cannot be arrested for actions performed in the course of their official duties without the Central Government's consent. Additionally, the State Government can issue a notification to extend this protection to specific classes or categories of Armed Forces members responsible for maintaining public order, allowing the State Government to substitute its consent requirement for that of the Central Government.
