Penalty for failure to comply: noncompliance and failure to show cause leads to a specified penalty and finalisation of the order. Where a person against whom an order under section 154 is made does not perform the required act or appear to show cause, that person is liable to the penalty specified elsewhere in the statute and the provisional order shall be made absolute.
