Registration of charges applies when a company acquires charged property or when an existing registered charge is modified. Section 79 extends the registration of charges rules in section 77 to companies acquiring property subject to an existing charge and to any modification of terms, scope or operation of a charge already registered, thereby preserving registration obligations and their consequences.
