<h1>Eligibility rules for NCLT/NCLAT President, Judicial and Technical Members, setting High Court and experience thresholds upheld</h1> Prescribes eligibility criteria for appointment as President and as Judicial or Technical Members of the National Company Law Tribunal and Appellate Tribunal. The President must be, or have been, a High Court Judge for at least five years, with the effect that only persons meeting this judicial tenure threshold may be appointed as President. A Judicial Member must be, or have been, a High Court Judge, or a District Judge for at least five years, or an advocate for at least ten years; the advocacy period includes specified legal service or tribunal/judicial office held after enrolment, with the effect of expanding what counts toward the required experience. A Technical Member must satisfy any one of the listed professional/service experience routes (generally 15 years, or 5 years as specified presiding officer), with the effect that only candidates meeting these experience-based categories are eligible.
