of <h1>Members' inspection rights u/s 171: free access to register of directors and KMP, remedies for refusal</h1> Section 171 of the Companies Act, 2013 grants members the right to inspect the register of directors and key managerial personnel maintained under Section 170(1). The register must be open for inspection during business hours, and members may take extracts and receive copies free of cost within thirty days of request. The register must also be available for inspection to any person attending the annual general meeting. If inspection or copies are refused or delayed, the Registrar may, upon application, order immediate inspection and supply of copies.
