<h1>Eligibility rules for NCLAT appointments: Chairperson, Judicial and Technical Member criteria upheld for senior judges and experts</h1> Prescribes statutory eligibility criteria for appointment to the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal. The Chairperson must be, or have been, a Judge of the Supreme Court or the Chief Justice of a High Court, limiting the role to senior constitutional judicial office-holders. A Judicial Member must be, or have been, a Judge of a High Court, or must have served as a Judicial Member of the Tribunal for at least five years, permitting elevation based on specified prior judicial service. A Technical Member must have proven ability, integrity and standing, with at least 25 years' special knowledge and professional experience in industrial finance, industrial management, industrial reconstruction, investment, and accountancy, thereby restricting technical appointments to defined commercial and financial domains.
