of <h1>Hefty penalties under Section 86 for unregistered company charges and false filings, with fraud under Section 447</h1> Section 86 of the Companies Act, 2013 prescribes penalties for non-compliance with provisions on registration of charges. If a company defaults in complying with any requirement of this Chapter, the company is liable to a penalty of five lakh rupees, and each defaulting officer is liable to a penalty of fifty thousand rupees. Additionally, any person who wilfully furnishes false or incorrect information, or knowingly suppresses material information required to be registered under section 77, is liable for action under section 447, which deals with punishment for fraud and entails more severe consequences.
