of <h1>Petitions under Companies Law require a verifying affidavit; corporate bodies need a director or officer to verify.</h1> Every petition under the Companies Law must be verified by an affidavit from the petitioner or one of the petitioners if there are multiple. If a body corporate presents the petition, a director, secretary, or principal officer must verify it. The affidavit must be filed with the petition in Form No. 3. However, the judge or Registrar may allow another authorized person to make and file the affidavit for sufficient reason.
