Companies Must Notify Creditors of Disputed Claims Using Form 27; Creditors to Prove Claims with Form 28 Affidavit
If a company disputes a person's claim to be listed as a creditor or does not fully admit a debt or claim, the company must notify the creditor using Form No. 27. The creditor is then required to prove their claim on a date set by the Judge. This notice must be served at least four days before the hearing. Creditors must submit an affidavit in Form No. 28 to support their claim. If the creditor cannot personally make the affidavit, an authorized agent may do so on their behalf.
