Special provision on assembly duration: Andhra Pradesh legislature limited to a fixed term unless sooner dissolved. A special transitional provision exempts the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly constituted under sections 28 and 29 of the States Reorganisation Act, 1956 from article 172 and directs that, unless sooner dissolved, it shall continue for a prescribed five year period from the date referred to in section 29, the expiration of which shall operate as its dissolution.
