Enforcement of Supreme Court decrees secures nationwide enforceability and power to compel attendance, discovery and contempt proceedings. The Supreme Court may pass any decree or make any order necessary for doing complete justice, and such decrees or orders are enforceable throughout India as Parliament prescribes or, until then, as the President prescribes; the Court also has nationwide power, subject to parliamentary law, to secure attendance, compel discovery or production of documents, and to investigate or punish contempt.
