          <h1>Temporary presidential succession: Constituent Assembly-elected President and Chief Justice to act until provisional Parliament elects replacement.</h1> Article 380 provided a temporary provision that the person elected by the Constituent Assembly would serve as President until a President elected under Chapter I of Part V entered office; on a vacancy the provisional Parliament would elect a successor and until that election the Chief Justice of India would act as President.
