Article 47 - Duty of the State to raise the level of nutrition and the standard of living and to improve public health

Article 47 mandates a constitutional duty of the State to raise nutrition levels, improve the standard of living, and promote public health as primary obligations under the Directive Principles; it additionally directs the State to endeavour to prohibit consumption of intoxicating drinks and drugs injurious to health, except for medicinal use.
