Gram Sabha powers: State legislature may vest village-level functions and duties through law, enabling local governance. Gram Sabha is empowered to exercise powers and perform functions at the village level as the State Legislature may, by law, provide; its role and scope are to be defined by state enactments under the Panchayats framework following insertion by the Seventy-third Amendment.
