of <h1>Supreme Court Clarifies Compensation for State Legislative Officers Under Article 186</h1> Article 186 of the Indian Constitution establishes that the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, as well as the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Council, shall receive salaries and allowances as determined by the State Legislature through law. Until such legislation is enacted, these officials shall be paid according to the specifications outlined in the Second Schedule of the Constitution.
