Continuance of existing municipal laws: inconsistent provisions remain until amended or repealed; municipalities persist unless dissolved by legislature. Existing municipal laws in force immediately before the Seventy-fourth Amendment continue despite inconsistency with this Part until amended or repealed by a competent legislature or other competent authority or until the earlier expiry of the transitional period; municipalities existing before commencement continue for the remainder of their duration unless sooner dissolved by resolution of the Legislative Assembly or, where applicable, by each House of the State Legislature.
