          <h1>Appointment of Public Service Commission members: executive appointments with an experience quota, acting chairman provision, and fixed tenure.</h1> Appointment of Public Service Commission members is by the President for Union and Joint Commissions and by the Governor for State Commissions, with about one half of members required to have held ten years' government service. An acting chairman may be appointed from among members if the chairman's office is vacant or the chairman is unable to act. Members serve a six year term or until the applicable age limit, may resign in writing to the appointing authority, may be removed under the Constitution's removal procedure, and are ineligible for re appointment.
