Special duration provision limits Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly to five years from the reorganisation date, expiring as dissolution. Notwithstanding Article 172, the Assembly constituted under the States Reorganisation framework shall, unless sooner dissolved, continue for five years from the date specified in the reorganisation measure and the expiration of that period shall operate as a dissolution of that Assembly.
