Import of pet animals as baggage permitted for residents relocating from abroad, subject to health certificates and quarantine inspection. Import of domestic pets as baggage is allowed for persons transferring residence to India after an extended stay abroad, limited to two animals, on production of the required health certificate from the country of origin and subject to examination by the Quarantine Officer. Re importation as baggage is permitted upon Customs establishment of identity, production of the required health certificate from the country of export and quarantine examination.
