Timely issuance of transshipment permits

Timely issuance of transshipment permits permitted on Saturdays and not to be denied absent intelligence of mis declaration or contraband.

Applications for transshipment permits may be filed and permits issued on Saturdays, and permits should not be denied when goods are manifested for transshipment to another port, airport, ICD or CFS except where specific intelligence indicates mis-declaration in the IGM or contraband; in such cases written permission from the Joint/Additional Commissioner is required before detaining containers at the gateway port.
