<h1>Unclaimed imported goods in India can be disposed of by custodian after 30 days under Customs Act, 1962, Sections 48 & 150.</h1> Under Section 48 of the Customs Act, 1962, goods imported into India that remain unclaimed or uncleared for home consumption, warehousing, or transshipment within 30 days of unloading at a port can be disposed of by the custodian. The disposal process requires issuing a notice to the importer and obtaining permission from Customs. The methods for disposing of such goods and distributing the proceeds are detailed in Sections 48 and 150 of the Customs Act, 1962.
