of <h1>Importers and exporters must adhere to Indian Quality Standards per CBEC's Customs Manual 2025; BIS license required.</h1> Importers and exporters must comply with mandatory Indian Quality Standards as per the Import Policy outlined in the CBEC's Customs Manual 2025. Products subject to these standards must meet the quality requirements applicable to domestic goods. Manufacturers and exporters to India must obtain a BIS license to use the Standards mark. The list of items under mandatory BIS certification is in Appendix-III of Schedule-I to ITC(HS), 2022. When BIS notifies new product standards, they are added to Appendix-III, and imports must comply from the implementation date. Non-compliance results in import prohibition.
