The Unit Approval Committee, chaired by the Development Commissioner, grants approvals for SEZ units' procurement of goods and services and monitors compliance with conditions of the Letter of Approval. The Jurisdictional Commissioner of Customs or a qualified nominee is an ex officio member and must attend meetings so that the customs revenue viewpoint is conveyed and recorded. Committee decisions require general consensus; if consensus is absent the proposal is referred to the Board of Approval.
