of <h1>E-payment of Customs Duty Now Mandatory for Importers Paying Over Rs. 10,000; Deferred Payment for Certified Importers</h1> E-payment of Customs duty is mandatory for importers under certain schemes and for those paying Rs. 10,000 or more per Bill of Entry. Deferred payment is available for certified importers and authorized public undertakings. The ICEGATE e-Payment Platform now facilitates electronic collection of voluntary/self-initiated payments, replacing manual TR-6 payments. Registered users can make payments for past transactions using the Electronic Cash Ledger. Payment methods include internet banking through authorized banks, NEFT/RTGS via the RBI, and Payment Aggregator mode, without needing Customs officer approval.
