Export Duty-Free Warehoused Goods if Conditions Met; Section 69 Allows Restrictions for Suspected Smuggling
Warehoused goods can be exported without import duty if specific conditions are met, including presenting a shipping bill and paying applicable export duties. Orders for clearance can be issued electronically based on risk evaluation. Re-export is allowed if the initial import was authorized and payment was in foreign currency. Section 69 of the Customs Act allows the government to restrict exports of certain goods if smuggling is suspected. Notifications specify restrictions on exports to certain countries and conditions for exporting goods in vessels under certain capacities. Ex-bond shipping bills are specifically for warehoused goods and do not offer export incentives.
