DFIA is issued only for Standard Input Output Norms (SION) notified items and excludes exemptions from anti-dumping and safeguard duties if made transferable. Under FTP 2015-20 and FTP 2023, DFIA exempts only Basic Customs duty and excludes the Gems and Jewellery sector. Verification of export details against DFIA records is mandatory before registration, with discrepancies referred to the Regional Authority. Specific conditions and guidelines apply.
