Customs Act Section 58B: Warehousing License Cancellation Process for Violations; Licensee Entitled to Hearing.
Section 58B of the Customs Act, 1962, outlines the process for cancelling a warehousing license when a licensee violates the Act or its regulations. The Principal Commissioner or Commissioner of Customs can cancel the license after giving the licensee a chance to be heard. During an inquiry, warehouse operations can be suspended, preventing new goods from being deposited. If a license is cancelled, goods must be removed within seven days or an extended period, either to another warehouse or for consumption or export, while existing provisions continue to apply to the goods.
