Repair of capital goods: overseas repairs require regulatory permission while domestic repairs proceed without prior permission. Export Oriented Units may send capital goods abroad for repair with prior regulatory permission and permitted foreign exchange payments. Domestic repairs of capital goods require no permission, while removal of goods by any unit for testing, repair, calibration or refinement is allowed on prior intimation and subject to maintenance of proper accounts of removal and receipts.
