Import of fire arms as baggage

Import of firearms as baggage: transfer-of-residence allows one firearm subject to licence, duty, and decade disposal restriction.

Import of firearms as baggage is prohibited except under a one-time transfer-of-residence exception allowing import of one permissible-bore firearm where the passenger relocates to India for at least one year, held and used abroad previously, holds a valid arms licence, and pays applicable duty; disposal is barred for ten years and may be endorsed on the arms licence.
