<h1>Principal Commissioner Can License Special Warehouses for Dutiable Goods Under Section 58A of Customs Act, 1962.</h1> Under Section 58A of the Customs Act, 1962, the Principal Commissioner or Commissioner of Customs can license special warehouses for storing dutiable goods, which must be locked by a proper officer. Entry or removal of goods requires permission from the officer. The Board can specify, via notification, the class of goods to be stored in these warehouses. Notifications No. 72/2016 and No. 66/2016 (amended by No. 61/2020) outline the classes of goods approved for storage in these special warehouses.
