Goods imported / exported and found defective

Free replacement and re importation of defective goods allowed, subject to re export, destruction, or customs duty payment.

EOUs may provide free replacement of exported goods found defective, subject to an RBI GR waiver, with such goods required to be brought back into the country; EOUs may re import part or full consignments if the foreign buyer fails to take delivery. EOUs may also receive free replacement of imported goods found defective prior to re export, but such goods must be re exported; if the supplier does not insist on re exportation, the goods must be destroyed or cleared into the domestic tariff area on payment of full customs duty.
